Youngster Akhil hasn’t made any announcement about his debut flick, as he says that a ‘blockbuster’ script is yet to fall in his lap. Missing out many possible ‘dates’ to declare his debut flick, the Akkineni scion has now fixed eyes on his brother’s ‘Oka Laila Kosam’ success meet that will be held at Vijayawada to share the details.
Stressing on the point that he wants to make sure that his debut will beget only one result from box office, that is a ‘blockbuster’, Akhil led a big open debate. Will a blockbuster on debut really help a hero open his career at a new level than one would expect? Maybe it is a case-to-case scenario but most ‘family’ backed youngsters kick started their career on a normal note. Except Mahesh Babu and Jr NTR whose debuts are poles apart, Bunny and Charan among the present lot scored only noticeable commercial hits but not some blockbusters. Rajakumarudu and Ninnu Chodalani run back deep into history, while Gangotri and Chirutha are present ones. And we know the results of these movies.
Akhil’s own brother Naga Chaitanya started with a flop like ‘Josh’, but now turned a happening hero. Probably Akhil needs a proper launch pad but not necessarily a score card ticking ‘blockbuster’. Rather waiting for a ‘blockbuster’ it is better he picks up a simple story and showcases his abilities as an actor and entertainer. What say folks?
