Dadi Veerabhadra Rao, former leader of the opposition in the Legislative Council met the YSR Congress chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy at the Chanchalguda jail on Saturday.

Dadi’s son Ratnakar was also with him when he met Jagan.

It may be mentioned that Dadi resigned from the TDP protesting against the treatment meted out to him by the party chief Chandra Babu Naidu. He was hurt when he was not re-nominated to the Council. Reports said that Dadi, a BC leader is asking for Assembly ticket for his son.

However, there appears to be opposition from Konatala Rama Krishna, another leader of the YSR Congress from Visakhapatnam district, to Dadi’s entry into the party.

He said now he knew about the facts and want to sail with the YSR family and support them in their hour of difficulty. Stating that Jagan was a leader with great commitment, Dadi said despite being in jail for eleven months, Jagan was still burning with the desire of doing some good to the people.

With Dadi’s entry becoming clear, there would be interesting developments in the Visakha politics say observers. Konatala Rama Krishna who has been an opponent of Dadi since a long time is irked by Dadi getting clearance. Rama Krishna who was Congress MP and minister in YSR cabinet has been opposing all these years TDP. As Dadi has been in the TDP since the last 30 years, the fight of Congress men was mainly with Dadi.

Workers of Congress who joined the YSR Congress along with Konatala Rama Krishna were aghast that Dadi was now joining their ranks. It is said that Konatala has already promised Anakapalli ticket to one of his followers. He also set candidates for other constituencies for the ensuing elections. He is upset as his equations would go haywire now. It is being said that Dadi assured that he was only asking one Assembly seat for his son and would not interfere in the selection of other candidates.
