The High Court of judicature at Hyderabad, for the state of Andhra Pradesh and for the state of Telangana, has served notices to AP CM Chandrababu Naidu and 57 others over the “illegal constructions” in the floodplain region of Krishna river. This is in connection with YSRCP MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy’s petition.
Mangalagiri MLA Ramakrishna Reddy said in his petition that the river front guest house of the Chief Minister was in violation of the River Conservancy Act, 1884.
Along with the notices, the High Court directed the respondents to file counter petitions within three weeks.
CM Chandrababu Naidu’s river-front residence was constructed on the Krishna river flood plains allegedly against the law that govern the protection of rivers. Naidu has leased the residence from Lingamaneni Group. Other ‘sensitive’ constructions in the area belong to Lingamaneni Ramesh, Narsapuram MP Gogaraju Gangaraju and naturopathy practitioner Manthena Satyanarayana Raju.
